BOARDROOM SILICONE WRISTBANDS!

Boardroom Skatepark Silicone wristbands are NOW IN STOCK..2 coloured with debossed writing on front and on the inside...ONLY £1.50 each

SUMMER SCHOOL HOLIDAY OPENING TIMES!!

As from Monday 18th July the Boardroom Skatepark will be on summer opening times up until Saturday 27th August;

Monday to Friday open every day from 12pm - 9.30pm (Wednesday's til 10pm)
Saturday's: 11am - 6pm
Sunday's: 12pm - 6pm

SK8 SKOOL will be run as normal.

PLEASE NOTE:
B M X are only allowed into the park on Thursday's and is Strictly a B M X ONLY Session.

Scooters are allowed into the park every day except Thursday's and are NOT allowed into the park on Wednesday's after 6.30pm.

Under 11 year Old's MUST wear a helmet and NO Child under the age of 10 can be left in the park unattended.

Due to popular demand,private hire on Saturday evenings are now booked up until middle of October. Sunday evenings are available from 6pm - 9pm but we are booked up on a Sunday until beginning of August.
We are now looking at hiring the park out on Saturday's from 9pm - 12pm for late sessions and also on Monday and Tuesday Afternoon 1pm - 4pm.
All private hire prices remain the same.
PLEASE NOTE: With private hire you can mix Skateboard,B M X,Scooters and Inline together.
For more info or if you want to book a private hire then ring the Skatepark during normal opening times.

Monday 21St - Friday 25Th.
We are open from 12 midday til normal closing times on ALL days.
Weekends as normal.
Scooters ARE allowed into the park on Wednesday up until 6.30pm and every day except Thursday. All areas of the park are open to Scooters.
B M X are only allowed into the park on Thursday.

Monday 31st January "SCOOTERS"

A debate that will go around in circles no doubt but bottom line is younger scooter riders need educating about Skatepark Etiquette.

I myself at times have had a few complaints because of Snaking,chain skating and the disregard to other users of the Skatepark when little scooter riders use the park.
I now have measures in place to reduce this and it seems to be working. But we are a small Skatepark and so we can control it better. We also don't allow the mixing of B M X with other users(ie skateboard,Inline and scooters) B M X riders get there own night to use the park without other users to the park. I understand the problem other parks are getting with this very popular sport but Scooters are here to stay I think. The income scooters bring into the Boardroom skatepark has helped to keep the place running,and to be honest if it wasn't for Scooters then I think we would of struggled to stay open.

We rely on people using the park,whether it be Skateboards,Inlines,Scooters or B M X.

We are NOT a charity and we do not get funding. So please work with us and work with the younger people who use the park,so everyone can enjoy their stay at The Boardroom Skatepark.

Well things have been a bit quiet and June was very slow. I know the weather has been good but the Skatepark is always in need of your support so come down when you can please.

News on the grapevine is that we WILL be hosting the NANDO's Jam again this year,the date has not been confirmed yet but I will keep you posted.

If you looked at last months post then you will know that I will be running 2 Half Marathons in September. Training is going well and I am running on average 15miles a week,but that will be increasing soon. I will be asking for donations nearer the time via a donation form or you can go online and donate,just go to www.justgiving.com/dinky-dave

Asthma week is from May 1St to May 9Th. National Asthma Day is on May 4Th. Every 16 minutes a child is admitted to hospital because of there Asthma. Every 7 HOURS somebody in the UK DIES from Asthma.I myself am asthmatic and suffered a life threatening attack 20 years ago. My Son is asthmatic and friends i know have sons and daughters who are asthmatic.This charity is very close to my heart so i am asking you to support this event if you can.

Sunday 20th September " The Nando's Xperimental jam came to Broom and cleaned up"

Nando's arrived...

The portable ramp was already here,Andy King and Rob Selley and friends started to build it...

setting up...

sk8 skool was still on for the first hour as the park got dressed...

they started to Q outside...

and the park looked amazing...

and the Q grew longer...

just about set...

the mini ramp was set...

they skated the ramp as the finishing touches were done to the park..

sam and tompkin set up the decks...

DONE!!!.... now to let them in..

And so they came....
it started to fill up...

and still they came...

lining up...

filling up...

Broom has never looked so busy...

onlookers...

outside was busy also...

but busier inside...

the rail came out to play...

i just don't know where they all came from...

the outdoor mini got some use...

and my boy was killin it...

the park started to empty for some reason...

that's why!!....they were lining up for the grub...

highlights of 14 and under best tricks went to..Lil matt acres(front axle 270 in),lil Callum(Blunt airwalk to fakie),Callum(Frontside boneless),Josh Lowe(Front Disaster to revert),Dom(50/50 round the corner)and Mike(frontside rock)...well done guys.

And then it was the over 14's...

So many tricks went down,big steeze goes to: strawberry Jim,Chris King,Mike simons,Suriyan,Pone and Foz.

Then outside for the signings...

Kids were getting stuff signed...

even body parts...

And the back inside for the Street comp...

14 and unders was just stupid,crashing into each other and the highlights were fron Reece and Lil matt..well done guys..

over 14's kicked off with best trick...and so much so write.check ouy the video on mpora...but Josh walters and Suriyan just were insane!!!

And then finally...everyone likes a freebie...

Ok so here it is.The first Nando's Xperimental Jam to be held at the Boardroom. Open from 12pm til 6pm on Sunday 20th September,this is going to be a full on day with demo's,teaching,competitions and food to be had.NO CONCESSIONS It will be £6 ALLday for everyone. Freebies and also design a deck competion and FREE Nando's BBQ.What more could you ask for.
Local resident skateboarders will be around including Mike Simons,Sam taylor and Alex decunha to name but a few.We are hoping to get a couple of Pro Skaters down but that will be on the day so come along and see who turns up.

On Thursday 11th December the Boardroom Skatepark opened it's doors to experienced BMX riders. And after some worried anticipation the night was a great success. With plastic pedals,No pegs and handlebar covers,tricks were being landed right ,left,centre and upside down.

To all you worried skaters out there,the park will always cater for skateboards first and even the bikes seemed to like the park.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will there be mixed sessions.BMX will only be allowed when i say so and will not interupt the everyday running of the park.
